Formulation upgrade – why you will love the new Face Facts Gel Cleanser

We increased the Face Facts Gel Cleanser from 100ml to 200ml as larger size offers better value and convenience. At the same time, we refined the formulation by removing unnecessary components that don’t contribute to the cleanser’s core function. By simplifying the formula, we focused on what truly matters - effective, soothing cleansing with skin-friendly ingredients.

Understanding oily & problem skin

Oily and problem skin types are common, especially among teenagers and young adults. They often go hand-in-hand, but it's helpful to understand each one separately.

Oily skin: This skin type produces more oil (sebum) than needed, leading to a shiny appearance as well as buildup of dead skin cells and oil, resulting in a thicker skin texture. Excess oil can contribute to clogged pores and may result in blemishes.

Problem skin: This refers to skin that frequently experiences issues like pimples, blackheads, whiteheads and inflammation. It's often a result of clogged pores due to excess oil and dead skin cells, as well as other environmental factors.

Understanding these skin types helps in choosing the right skin care routine to manage oiliness and prevent breakouts.

Product Application

Gently massage onto your face and neck using circular motions, focusing on areas prone to oiliness and breakouts. Then rinse with lukewarm water infused with Green Rooibos. Press your skin dry with a clean towel. After cleansing, apply your preferred Essense and/or Forever Young treatment product, then to maintain hydration apply the Face Facts Moisturiser and protect with Annique Rooibos sunscreen.

Avoid over-cleansing: Cleanse only once a day, at night. While it's important to keep the skin clean, over-cleansing can strip natural oils and may lead to increased oil production. Stick to twice daily unless otherwise directed by a skin care professional.

Cleanse only at night: At night your skin needs a deep reset from all the elements it is exposed to during the day such as sweat, make-up, pollution, bacteria and dirt.

Cleansing at night helps remove the buildup and gives your skin a clean slate to absorb the treatments products from the Forever Young Anti-Ageing and Essense Treatment ranges more effectively.

Cleansing again in the morning can lead to over-cleansing that can disrupt your skin barrier, strip away tour skin’s natural oils and lead to dryness or irritation. In the morning you can rinse your face with lukewarm Rooibos water (dilute a cup of strong Rooibos in your wash basin water) and apply your treatment products as required with the Annique Rooibos moisturiser best suited to your skin and a sunscreen.
